It is Austria’s largest scientific-technical research and educational institution. Within the Vienna University of Technology, the Institute of Actuator and Sensors Systems groups the research and teaching activities around: Industrial Sensor Systems, Applied Electronic Materials and Microsystems Technology.

The group on Microsystems Technology, headed by Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schmid (www.isas.tuwien.ac.at/home/EN/), is devoted to the design, preparation, and testing of three-dimensional structures and function modules in the micro- and nanometer range. Prof. Dr. U. Schmid and his co-workers have a long-term experience in the fabrication and evaluation of micromachined devices for microelectronic or microsystems related applications.
